Germany: strengthening our position in a key European market
Germany is one of the most strategic rail freight markets in Europe and a key pillar of Lineas’ international network. While the market remains challenging, many industrial customers are increasingly looking for reliable alternatives and stronger service quality.
In this context, Lineas is strengthening its presence in Germany with a clear ambition: becoming one of the country’s top 5 rail freight operators by 2030. This ambition was recently shared by our CEO Erik van Ockenburg in an interview with German logistics media DVZ.
To support this ambition, Lineas continues to invest in new locomotives and in strengthening its local organization. As part of this next step, Manfred Burk will join Lineas as Country Manager Germany from June 2026. With more than 25 years of experience in logistics and rail operations, he will focus on operational excellence, service quality and sustainable growth in the German market. Manfred will also quickly engage with customers and partners across Germany to better understand their needs and further strengthen collaboration.
More than ever, our objective is clear: building reliable, efficient and sustainable rail solutions that help your supply chains move forward across Europe.
