Brussels, January 13, 2022 – Lineas, Europe's largest private rail freight operator, has appointed Frank Berweger as Director of Sales. Frank Berweger has been working in the transport and airline industry for most of his career. He is a highly accomplished leader with vast experience in sales and logistics. For the past 7 years, he has been Vice President Sales for The Americas at Lufthansa Technik. Previously, he held senior management positions at Expeditors International and Lufthansa Cargo in Europe, Africa and Asia.

He will enrich Lineas with his vast international experience in sales, business development and transformational leadership. As well as being a solid strategic thinker, he is known to be hands-on and close to customers. He will work with Lineas’ leading sales organization to further develop our high-quality transport solutions offering.”

Frank Berweger, a native German who grew up in Belgium and speaks Dutch and French, next to English and German, holds a degree in Business Administration from Hamburg University. He takes over the position of Director of Sales previously held by Matthias Herrebosch.
Matthias Herrebosch, who served Lineas for 13 years, decided to pursue a career opportunity outside the rail industry. We would like to thank Matthias for his dedication and his contribution to the growth of Lineas across Europe.
Frank Berweger started in his new role of Sales Director as of January 1, 2022.

Lineas, the largest private rail freight operator in Europe, announced today that it will apply a dynamic energy surcharge to all its transports as of April 1st, 2022 to compensate for soaring energy prices. While such a surcharge is common practice for other modes of transportation, Lineas is the first rail company to implement this measure and anticipates that other players in the market will follow suit.
